Diane Lock

Diane Lynn (Klug) Lock, age 66, passed away peacefully on Monday October 14, 2024, at St. Elizabeth's Nursing Home in Janesville after courageously accepting a metastatic breast cancer diagnosis in January. Diane was born on November 13, 1957 to Merril Klug and Doris (Klug) Arneson and grew up on the family farm she loved in Milton WI. She graduated from Milton High School in 1975 where she enjoyed all activities, but especially her involvement in choir. Diane was married to William Lock for twelve years and they had two children together, Lindsay and Joshua. Diane was very proud of her children and the people they became and the great parents they are. She had many interests, but her children and grandchildren were what mattered most to her. She had a special bond with her grandson Jon who lived the closest and she was thrilled by triplets born to Josh and Sarah in Jan 2023. Diane battled MS and mental health issues for decades. It was not always easy for her or her loved ones but she did not complain about her plight and relied heavily on her faith to get through the roughest days, along with comfort from her beloved pets, Mercy and Mia. She loved God, loved music, and loved learning. When her MS wasn't knocking her down, she enjoyed volunteering, research, writing, playing guitar and taking college classes. She was intelligent, had a great sense of humor, was courageous, fiercely independent, resourceful, creative and very giving. Diane was preceded in death by her father Merril Klug, his wife Liz, stepfather Harlan Kolberg, and special aunts, uncles and cousins. Diane is survived by her mother Doris (Phil) Arneson, daughter Lindsay Lock (Caden Ohwiler), son Joshua (Sarah) Lock, eight grandchildren (Bridgette, Anastasia, Leilani, Deaton, Jonathan, Madden, Oliver and Henry), sisters Connie (Ernie) Fisher and Peggy (Dale) Dissmeyer, brothers Raymond (Christina) and James Klug, several nieces and nephews, special cousins and friends. Celebration of Life will be held at The Gathering Place at 715 Campus Street in Milton on Sunday November 10. Visitation will start at 2:00 PM followed by a service led by Pastor Jon Grice at 3 PM. A private burial will be held at a later date. The family wishes to extend a very special thank you to all the incredible Mercy Health Hospice staff who so lovingly cared for Diane, along with the wonderful staff at St. Elizabeth's.
