Lyle Ernest Dressler

Lyle Ernest Dressler, 92, passed away in his home with his family by his side in the early morning on August 17, 2026. He was born on October 29, 1933, in the town of Beloit, WI to Mildred Dressler. He grew up in Beloit attending Cunningham grade school, Lincoln junior high and Beloit Memorial High School. Lyle lived in Beloit his entire life except when he went to serve in the United States Air Force. He enlisted on January 20, 1953, where he worked as an aircraft mechanic. He was honorably discharged January 27, 1957, as an Airman 3rd Class. Lyle was honored to serve our country. He was able to see monuments dedicated to all who served when he went on the Veterans Roll trip to Washington, D.C. in 2015. Shortly after his discharge he was employed at Beloit Corp until his retirement in 1995. He then worked part-time at the carwash in Beloit. On July 12, 1980, he married the love of his life Sharon, whom he spent 46 years with as a faithful and loving husband. Lyle loved spending time outdoors whether he was tending to his rose garden or going hunting with friends. He was a talented woodworker known for his skill and craftsmanship. He loved country music, Reba being one of his favorites. Lyle found joy in the simple yet meaningful moments of life. Deeply committed to his community, Lyle volunteered with the local food pantry, meals on wheels and the Vet Roll, an organization that honors our vets by taking them to Washington, D.C. to visit the memorials and monuments created in their honor. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years Sharon Dressler; sons, Timmi (Cindy) Dressler and Todd Dressler; daughter, Marrianne (Matt) Olson; stepchildren, Ruth (Mike) Harding, Rose Ross and Mark Sutherland; brothers-in-law, Norm (Sherry) Rose and Jean (Gail) Rose; 13 grandkids and 26 great grandkids. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends Henry (Jeannene) Wichelt and Theressa and children. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Gerald, Ken and Norman; brothers-in-law, Wayne and Allen; sister-in-law, Myra and step-daughter Mary. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 24, 2026, at Brian Mark Funeral Home, 1000 Inman Parkway, Beloit, WI from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. when the funeral service begins. Immediately following the funeral service, full military honors will be held. Friends and family are invited to stay for a luncheon following services at the funeral home beginning at noon. Brian Mark Funeral Home is assisting the family with final arrangements.
