Born on May 18, 1961, in Springfield, IL, Morgan graced the lives of many with his gentle spirit and unwavering kindness. Morgan was the cherished son of the late Terese Van Wie and Robert Cronson. He was also predeceased by his brother Seth Samuel Van Wie (Cronson) and infant sister Mary Cronson. He leaves behind his loving partner of 25 years, Mary Therese Raup, who shared his life in love, respect, and friendship. Their bond was a testament to a partnership built on mutual admiration and joy. Morgan is survived by his siblings Karen Van Wie, Christopher Cronson, and Keelyn Cronson, who will forever hold him in their hearts. His nieces Sommer (Chris) Walker, Marjorie Banker and Jesi Espie (Timothy Lewis), and his nephew David (Lauren) Espie, will always remember their uncle for his wisdom, humor, and the warmth he brought into their lives. Also his (estranged) daughters Cayne Vind (granddaughter Lilly) and Corrie Cronson (grandsons Leviathan and Osiris). A man of many talents, Morgan's career journey began humbly as a professional driver delivering pizza for Pizza Pit in Madison. His love for the open road saw him excel as a long-haul OTR truck driver, before he became a well-known presence in Madison through his work with Badger Cab, Union Cab—where he also served on the board of directors—and Madison Metro. Morgan's intricate knowledge of the city and its neighborhoods made him the go-to person for the best routes and shortcuts, and his mechanical skills were put to good use within Metro's safety department. Morgan's contributions extended beyond his professional life. He was a dedicated member of the Board for the Willy Street Park, where he played a role in nurturing community spaces. His heart was as vast as his interests, which included beautiful cars, motorcycles, trains, and anything Sci-Fi. Morgan had a deep affection for animals, and his home was always open to cats, dogs, and any creature needing love. Music was a constant companion, with the Moody Blues holding a special place in his collection. A thinker at heart, Morgan loved games that challenged the mind and relished in both online and in-person gaming. He found peace and happiness in the great outdoors, savoring the beauty of nature on a perfect day. In honor of Morgan's love for animals, the family kindly requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to your local animal shelter, rescue, or animal hospital. Morgan's legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him, a testament to a life well-lived and a soul deeply cherished.
