David Paul Merritt Jr.

David Paul Merritt Jr., 22, of Beloit, Wisconsin, passed away suddenly in his home on Saturday, November 10th, 2018. The Memorial Service will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 1000 Bluff St., Beloit, WI, at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 24th, 2018. The Repass will follow the services, (2p.m.) being held at the VFW located at 2711 S. Afton Rd., Beloit, WI 53511. David was born in Beloit, Wisconsin, on January 30th, 1996. He attended Beloit Schools and was a graduate of Blackhawk Technical College in 2016. David was a devoted Chicago Bears fan and loved playing video games and going fishing with friends and family. David had a passion for music and playing his guitar. Some of David’s best childhood memories were spent at the local skatepark. David, a.k.a. “lil David,” a.k.a. “Taco,” was an amazing son. He was the best big brother ever, and a great friend to all of those that had the honor of knowing him. David is survived by his parents, Erin Wells, David Merritt Sr. (Fran), and stepfather, Allen Savage; sisters, Jada Savage, Benet Savage, Samaria Savage, Savannah Collins, Izabella Corona and Trinity Fry; brothers, Sebastion Savage, Brayden Merritt and Devin Merritt; grandfather, Arnie Wells (Mary); grandmothers, Gina Merritt and Nora Fick; great-grandmother, Pauline (Momma) Merriweather; aunts, Kelly Wells, Shannan Merritt and Lauren Merritt; uncles, Billie Merritt and Montrell Savage. He was dearly close to a host of great-aunts and uncles, cousins, other relatives, and life-long family friends and classmates. Special recognition to friend and companion Amber Fields, and best friends, Jordan, Jase, Hayden, Ben, Gabe and “T”. David is preceded in death by his grandmothers, Paula Wells, Evelyn Merritt and Brenda Savage; and great-grandparents, Lila and Carl Otto, and Ruth and Arnold Wells Sr. In lieu of sending flowers, memorial donations, contributions and condolences may be sent or directed to the Facebook Fundraiser for David Merritt Jr Funeral Cost or sent to c/o Erin Wells/Wells Family, 2571 Park Ave #9, Beloit, WI 53511.
